The signature recreational parks at Mountain’s Edge are Exploration Peak, a fully restored 2,846-foot-tall natural mountain park at the community’s entrance, and Exploration Park, an 80-acre western-themed park at the mountain’s base. Bicycle trails and walking paths lead up to several vantage points atop Exploration Peak. On the journey up, you will find an authentic sundial and historical markers along the trail. And once at the peak, you will be rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley and the Mountain’s Edge community. Exploration Park includes picnic areas, playgrounds, water play area, walking trails, replicas of a western town and Indian village, archaeology dig site, outdoor amphitheater and more.
The 20-acre Nathaniel Jones Park is the newest park to open at Mountain’s Edge. Residents can stop by to play basketball on the lighted court, take a stroll or jog on the walking trail, play with their kids in the shaded tot lot and splash pad, enjoy a picnic in the grass, or just enjoy the wonderful outdoor setting.
Community residents also enjoy the benefits of the beautiful new Mountain’s Edge Regional Park. The 18-acre first phase is fitness-themed with several unique features, including a sports wall for racquet sports, soccer and other games, and a bike town area with miniature stop signs and crosswalks to teach young children how to safely ride bicycles and scooters. Other amenities include exercise stations, multi-use turf fields, a meditation garden, a 1.5-mile walking trail, restroom and picnic facilities, shade shelters and lighting.
Deciding where you’ll be sending your kids to school is an important part of buying a home. In addition to the existing schools, William V. Wright Elementary School and Carolyn S. Reedom Elementary School, Mountains Edge community master plan also proposes two new elementary schools, two middle schools and a community high school.
In addition to the schools within the community itself, Mountain’s Edge is also zoned for many other fine schools in the area:
Canarelli Middle School
Faiss Middle School
Lois and Jerry Tarkanian Middle School
Desert Oasis High School
Sierra Vista High School
Southwest Career and Technical Academy
